New Moon Events: Night of Healing 8-8-2002 |
Was held at Randy's beautiful home with a swimming pool which was heated to about ninety-eight degrees for the event. Many thanks to Randy In attendance: Bob, David, Don, Garson, Jeff, Joseph, Ralph, Michael, Randy, Roy, Scott, Shawn, and myself (Leonardo). We did two healings for two people. Thanks to the men who gave so much of themselves, not only in time and energy but the 12 or 15 dollars they gave to heat the pool and offer a healing to another man. |
Here's what

the experience:

I did not know what to expect at this event, but I was glad I went. I was the
first one to be on the healing table, I could feel the warmth radiating from
the hands that were over me some were very warm. Then carried to the pool
supported by all ( i felt very relaxed, I was not afraid of being dropped or
dunked, it was a feeling of trust and love) and lowered into the warm water and
carried around in a circle, then brought out of the water and dried off. I was
so relaxed, I had a little trouble standing at first. This was a very moving
experience. It was also great to perform what was done to me on the next guy on
the table. I only wish we had more time to do every one and let them feel this
experience on the table. Maybe next time, and I say next time because I feel
this was to good to do only once. Thanks to Leonardo, Bob, David, Don, Garson,
Jeff, Joseph, Ralph, Roy, Scott, Shawn and a big thanks to Randy for the use of
his home.

Thank you all for your caring and love at the healing pool event. It's
been a long time since I availed myself of the company of gay men for support
and touch. Without going into all the story, I was in a space where I needed to
receive what you all gave. I experienced a very positive connection with you, a
reconnecting with my own gay soul, and a deep affirmation of the power to love
that we all have.
Thanks to Randy for sharing his home, to Leo for organizing and
facilitating the event, and to Michael and Don for the long hugs, to Gar for
receiving my caring, to each of you who looked me in the eye and verbally or
non-verbally said, "I love you."

Lawn Chair, August 9, 2002
There is no one to tell this to, and that’s all right:
The chimes sway and sing to each other;
Warm sun, cool shade, and the breeze.
The cat curled on this lawn chair,
Sharing space with my feet.
The dog happy, too, in grassy dirt.
Avocado’s on the tree: lemons on the bush;
Blue morning glories I planted yesterday,
And Buddha sitting there, across the little yard.
My swings wait for company,
My books wait to be read.
I have to write this, though, quick,
Before ---
A year ago another dog died, another lover left,
An old friend, too.
Another summer cooled at night, and with that subtle touch
Reminded me what was coming.
August Ninth, my journal said.
And so I’m writing here, this word: delight.
I’m scared of it, half don’t believe it,
Hard to give up shame, and fright--
But just in silence, I’ll admit this day of bliss:
Magenta bougainvillea,
Last night’s kiss;
Some naked men in someone’s pool,
They held me, just above the surface,
My head, my hips, my feet,
And someone’s lips invited mine,
And I was still at first,
And then said, fine.
And bought tomatoes at the fair today,
And planned for supper, like they do it
Where my friend lived, far away.
And here’s my book, and here’s my afternoon, beginning:
I’m listening for what I’ll say. . . .
The cat begins to clean her ears.
The dog is deep asleep.
The clouds have come in from the bay.
I’ve got to hurry now--
How many years?
